In Luke 20, we encounter the conflict and controversy of Christ and the Sadducees. The latter rejected the idea of spirits, angels and of course the resurrection of the dead. However, Jesus puts them to silence on the matter. Within the discussion, several important points arise which are not understood by those who approach the text. Today, we examine some of the "finer" details associated with Luke 20. Our aim is also to determine whether this text is yet to be fulfilled or was it fulfilled in connection with the fall of the temple and city of Jerusalem in A.D. 70.
