Tonight we are talking about the decline in marriage in the Black community. During the last half century African Americans and Black Carribeans have become the most unmarried people in the US. Black women are more than twice as likely as their white counterparts not to have married. Black men who are high earners are even less likely to have married than black men who earn substantially less. According to Ralph Richard Banks in the book ' Is Marriage for White People?',  there are so many available to single black women on the market compared to the number of black men, this makes professional black men even less likely to marry. These men tend to use this inbalance to initiate relationships that tend to not be committed or exclusive, include sex but not marriage.

Why are whites marrying more than black people across the world? Are there any options for black women or men who still want to marry?

Let's talk about it
