What message does the historical date of 14 July 1789, Paris, France hold for us today? A group of angry people, angry at the establishment, seething with resentment, attacked a state prison on the outskirts of Paris. The thing is the people were not attacking the prison to free the prisoners, there were only seven prisons housed there at the time; the people wanted access to the bullets and ammunition stored inside the prison.

The Governor of the prison would not tlet them in so they beheaded him, took control of the prison and ran around town with his head on a spike. Sounds medieval, but that incident sparked the beginning of the French Revolution. Citizens of France found their courage , ros eup and overthrew the aristocracy ending centuries of fedualistic oppression.

What does that tell us about today?
