Jerry Falwell, Jr. and The Conundrum of the Closeted Christian Conservative

Giancarlo Granda, a business parameter of Jerry Falwell, Jr., has come forward to say he had a years-long sexual relationship involving Falwell's wife and the evangelical leader himself. Jerry Falwell, Jr. is a staunch Trump supporter, and, until today, was the President of Liberty University, a private evangelical Christian university in Lynchburg, Virginia. 

Mr. Falwell is a staunch critic of gay marriage, and some go so far as calling him a racist bigot in line with his father, Jerry Falwell, Sr., who was the Founder of Liberty University.

But is this heated controversy really about the tangled sexual relationship between the Falwells and their "business partner"? Or is it about the hypocrisy of a conservative Christian couple who regularly condemn homosexuality vis-a-vis their support of a President whose administration denies rights to LGBTQ persons while they themselves participate in illicit, homosexual affairs?
