According to a small study from researchers in China, the virus that causes COVID-19 can be found in the semen of patients who have recovered from the disease.
Doctors detected the virus in the semen from six of 38 men who were hospitalized with laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19. Although four men were at the height of infection, only two had achieved clinical recovery. Researchers say that more tests are needed to provide conclusive answers as to whether the Coronavirus can be transmitted sexually.
Will the Coronavirus be classified as a sexually transmitted disease? Or are these studies too ambiguous to arrive at that conclusion?
