Join Donna Messer as she talks to George Minakakis.

George Minakakis is the 4th Python to be interviewed. He is a change management leader with an acumen and ability to mobilize resources, stimulate competition and make radical changes to reverse under-performance and transform organizations. He is recognized as a Canadian retail leader.

His book “Last Retailer Standing; Relevant Leadership = Relevant Brands” is about changing the retail industry and the challenges of staying relevant in a fast evolving market.

The Pythons’ Pit is a partnership between the Rotary Clubs of Halton and McMaster University’s DeGroote School of Business. The purpose of the initiative is to give creative, entrepreneurial residents and high school students of Halton an opportunity to pitch their innovative business ideas or products to the Pythons. There is an investment pool of more than $150,000 that will be up for grabs during the competition.

George’s interest in becoming a Python arises from his own experiences by spending most of his life in Fortune 500 companies.  His family l comes from a line of entrepreneurs and the companies he worked for were very ‘intrapreneurial’ in their management and leadership styles. A dynamic and visionary leader, George will be in the Pit when finalists are put to the test on March 23rd 2013 at the DeGroote’s Ron Joyce Centre in Burlington.
