Currently, there is far too much discussion on the problem of the unmarried Black woman. I say that there is far too much discussion because the focus is only external, never internal. In other words, everyone is willing to talk about any and all reasons for the sizeable pool of unmarried Black women, but those reasons never include decisions made by the Black women who are unmarried. The essential problem with such discussions is that the presentation is one of a poor, suffering Black woman and a sorry, unfit Black man. Frankly, whether anyone wants to hear it or not, I believe that a great portion of the Black women who are over 35 and unmarried have simply made some choices that have lead them to their current state. This show will focus on some of the reasons why Black women aren’t getting married that are not necessarily connected to sorry Black men. Co-hosts Trey Whitaker and Demetria Richardson.
