Love/Hate Relationships

'There's a thin line between love and hate,' but why do we continue to walk the line?  Are we sabotaging ourselves by staying in love/hate relationships?  If so, why do we stay? Why do we hurt the ones closest to us and that we love the most; and vice versa?  Why is that particular hurt so painful?!? 

Is it “Codependency” when we take our loved one's opinions SOO heavily to heart, or is it natural correlation?  Have you ever hated someone because you loved them so much?  When and how should you end a love/hate relationship?
