LABOR DAY CELEBRATION....2016

Come on, we're going to celebrate and have a good time.  Everyone, come on IT'S A CELEBRATION!

The first LABOR DAY was celebrated on Tuesday, Sept 5, 1882 in New York City, then in 1884, the first Monday in Septembeer was selected as the holiday to honor and celebrate 'working men's holiday.'  The idea spread and in 1885 LABOR DAY was celebrated in many industrial centers of the country.

Founder of LABOR DAY...some records show that Peter J. Mcguire, gen'l secretary of the Brotherhood of Carpenters was first in suggesting a day to honor those 'who from rude nature have delved and carved all the grandeur we behold.'
