Doping, or using a substance to enhance performance, is nothing new. Contrary to romantic notions about the purity of Olympic sports, ancient Greeks ingested special drinks and potions to give them an edge, and at the 1904 Games, athletes downed potent mixtures of cocaine, heroin and strych- nine.
A new initiative, designed not as a campaign but a way of life, is the Test Me, I’m Clean program. The organization was started with the goal to inspire, motivate and educate athletes of all ages and all sports about the dangers of performance enhancement drugs.
Founded by American 2004 Olympic 4x400m relay gold medalist Dee Dee Trotter, Test Me I’m Clean is dedicated to making a stand once and for all against dishonest athletes by encouraging athletes of all ages to stay clean while they strive for greatness.
Find out how to right the wrongs of doping in sport. Dee Dee Trotter, Olympic medalist and spokesperson of the Test Me I’m Clean joins us in conversation LIVE Wed December 5th @ 7PM EST at BEYONDtheCheers on blogtalkradio.
