learning about the primary election 2016

My name is Tammi Joyner, I am your host for the show.

Today we would like to talk about voting, registering to vote and the primary election.

Everyone 18 and older is allowed to vote.

In order to vote you must:

you must be a US citizen

you must be a state resident

not  be mental incompentent

no to a felon

A primary election is an election that narrows the field of candidates before an election for office. Primary elections are one means by which a political party or a political alliance  nominates candidates for an upcoming general election or by election.
