MYRA SHAPIRO was born in the Bronx and returned to New York after 45 years in Georgia and Tennessee. Her poems have appeared in numerous periodicals and anthologies, including The Best American Poetry. She serves on the board of Poets House and is the author of I'll See You Thursday and a memoir, Four Sublets: Becoming a Poet in New York.
