Just Clothes, or Is It?

After twenty-five years (25) of helping women with their wardrobe selection for getting dressed every day, there is one phase I have heard repeatedly, "I have nothing to wear."
The majority of women have a closet full of clothes, but dislike two-thirds of what is in the closet.  At the end of the twentieth century statistics supported this lamenting with the average women wearing only 25 percent of the clothes in her closet.  Today, I would assert that the quantity of the wardrobe worn is 15 to 20 percent.

Why?

The answer is complex. As a woman and an image/wardrobe consultant, I understand the challages of gettering dresses everyday with intention and to exude confidence.  There are obstacles and roadblocks - frustrations and disappointments - concealed in the recesses of the closet and the psyche that keep me and a multitude of women from dressing to our most fitting visual presentation.  We (Woman) are conditioned to a lifelong set of dress coping strategies and deeply engrained values of self-worth - a woman's clothing selection are an extension of herself and the relationship she has (consciously or unconsciously) encouraged with her clothes.

The closet reflects the experiences, attitudes, fears, ambitions, behaviors and hope of a women.
