Cris Akufuna- PR Manager; Electoral Commission of Zambia

Mr Cris Akufuna is the Public Relations Manager for The Electoral Commission of Zambia, an independent and autonomous Electoral Management Body responsible for spearheading, facilitating and supervising the electoral process of Zambia. The commission will be embarking on the task of conducting a presidential by-election in view of the death of President Michael Chilufya Sata on October 28, 2014 in England.  Mr Akufuna will discuss what the preparations entail, budget requirements, deployment of electoral officers, determination of actual election day and the procedure of presidential candidates filing for nominations. He will also address the matter of voter registration as it relates to the upcoming presidential by-election and whether there will be provision for new voters' registration.
