Chileshe Mubanga/Mporokoso District/Chilu Lemba

PERSPECTIVES

Chileshe Mubanga is the Managing Director of the privately owned Mporokoso Mini-Hydro Power project, the project was built by his father an inventor who built the mini-hydro electric dam on his property using knowledge acquired through high school physics lessons in which he excelled.

Mr Mubanga joins us to discuss the upgrading venture of the power station to boost its power generation which will enable the people in Mporokoso to use the electricity from the mini-hydro power project as a source of energy for home and farming which would stimulate economic growth in the region.

SPOTLIGHT

Chilu Lemba has been in the media arena from the age of twenty when he joined Radio Phoenix as an On Air Presenter before becoming the Station Manager. Fifteen years later, he today has a wealth of knowledge and experience under his belt – having worked with top brands – including a three year stint at Jo’burgs number one hit music station 94.7 Highveld Stereo as a Presenter.

Chilu is also one ofAfrica’s busiest voiceover artists, having lent his voice to more than 5,000 radio spots and television ads over the past eight years, for brands such as Coca Cola, FIFA, DSTV, Volvo and the South Africa Revenue Service. He is the official television and radio voice for the latter. He also released a music album in 2006 titled Sound Legacy, which is available on iTunes.

A graduate of the AAA School of Advertising, he has been involved in the creation of brands such an Internet Magazine that he co-founded called BHmagazine.com and more recently Ten 27 Communications, which owns a recording studio based in Johannesburg.
