Dr Kasoma moved to Itezhi tezhi in 2006 and has been working there since. In 2007 she started a project providing Mobile health Services to the community as most people are not able to access basic health services. The project has been a success, and in 2009 the United Nations recognised it and Dr Kasoma won the 2009 United Nations Public Service Award for the category Improvement in Service Delivery. She continues to run the project and still doing clinical work at the rural hospital because she believes basic health care is a Human Right. On the show she will talk about the issues affecting her work including lack of medical doctors, medicines and diagnostic tools like MRI and CAT scans at the Hospital. She will also discuss the most common diseases in the area such as Malaria.
