To date, the most remarkable thing about Comet Elenin, is the commotion and confusion. On one hand, wild theories, often perpetuated by disinformationalists are taking leading honest folks down pointless rabbit holes.

On the other hand, the there are the guardians of dogma, who while professing to know better, arrogantly pile one patronizing and demeaning pronouncement upon the other.

Consequently, drawing a clear bead on what will happen during this coming flyby is more difficult than ever before. But is waiting to cross this bridge until you come to it, the best way to handle the controversy? Not so, says Ed Corcoran, editor of Survival Magazine.

He sees a reasonable answer in the understanding that Comet Elenin is just another possible space threat and that whether a worst case flyby scenario unfolds or not, there are plenty of other threats facing us.  Any of which could paralyze our global economy with resulting hardships for all.
