The month of May we celebrate "Our Health. Our Home. Or Future" tonight we discuss our future: Babies Having Babies. It is National Teen Pregnancy Prevention Month and The Healing Place is here to tackle the issue. The debate on the root of teen pregnancy is never ending, but whether or not we agree on the severity of the problem, we must admit that children raising children is not an ideal situation. There are startling statistic on teen pregnancy that are worth discussing; as reported by www.dosomething.org: More than 50% of teen mothers never graduate from high school, Less than 2% of teen moms earn a college degree by age 30, 8 out of 10 teen dads don’t marry the mother of their child, About 25% of teen moms have a 2nd child within 24 months of their first baby. The United States has one of the highest teen pregnancy rates in the western industrialized world.
