The question of Spirituality was one that haunted Huey P. Newton since his High School Years.  As a youth most of his time was spent fighting, not because he was a bully but because he was being bullied.  His brother Melvin taught him how to fight after coming home from school beaten down, his mother told his older brother to walk him to school. Melvin had other ideas and taught Huey how to fight, and fight he did.  The baddest Black Panther to ever live was not only glib but he was fast with his hands and would punish any one on his block who tested him.  That is how he acquired the nick name "Prize Fighter" from the local men in his community who would bet on him.

Today we morn those who would not fight back, those who believed that none violent behavior and posturing will get you something from these crackers.  It will get only get you killed, as in the case of Clementa Pinckney State Senator from Charlleston South Carolina. Clementa Pinckney, was among the nine people killed in what authorities are calling a hate crime at a church on Wednesday. Pinckney, 41, was the pastor at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church, one of the oldest African-American houses of worship in the country.   Pinckney, together with the Rev. Al Sharpton, had led a prayer vigil for Walter Scott, an unarmed black man shot by white police officer Michael Slager in Charleston in April. In response to Scott's killing, Pinckney had pushed the state legislature to require police officers to wear body cameras. He was an active supporter of Hillary Clinton’s bid for the 2016 Democratic presidential ticket and spent his last day campaigning with her in Charleston." So we see non violence is not the way, as Malcolm said you must be a fool if you think so.
