Do your job search with large and small companies. For companies of interest to you:
1.Visit the company websites and find positions they have open.
2.Be sure the job duties match your skills.
3.Read information about the company at their "About us" tab.
4.Write company name, address, phone number and a contact person for hiring from the Contact us tab. Look for name of person in charge of hiring.
5. Plan a call and a use a somewhat scripted conversation, unless it is stated to not call in. 1) Hi, my name is... 2) May I speak with the person in charge of hiring? 3) I'm name, I'm looking for work as a truck driver. When would be a good time to stop by and fill out an application?
6. Complete a resume to fit the job of your choice
For every job you chose you should research it, call an inquire about stopping by to complete an application, or you can mail in a resume using the contact information. You will call the company, mail a resume, visit the company, prepared to apply for the job you want. Do a combination of these things with each company. Keep a journal of dates, names and results, and followup info.
