Wombanist Views is proud to Kick Off the New Year with Renina Jarmon, founder of Black Girl Everything and New Model Minority; as well as the brand #BlackGirlsarefromthefuture. Renina is a cultural critic, author, instructor, blogger, and doctoral student, whose graduate studies focus on the politics of Black women’s digital story-telling archives and the political ecosystems of the internet.

Renina is a sought out public speaker. She has addressed audiences at the Barnard Center for Research on Women, The WESTAF Symposium in Aspen, Words, Beats and Life and ARt Sanctuary’s Annual Writing. Her work has also been featured in The Root, Ms. Magazine, XXL and Clutch Magazine online.

She joins us on Wombanist Views to discuss her book, Black Girls Are From the Future: Essays on Race, Digital Creativity and Pop Culture, as well as other topics regarding gender, race, and sexuality in the media.
