J. D. Masterson PhD was orginally a hematology/oncology child psychologist.

After 12 years of working with both developmentally-delayed and terminally-ill children and their families, J.D. left the psychology profession due to managed care control and joined one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world in an entry-level position.
