Tonight we will be joined by Congressman John Conyer's. Congressman Conyers has been at the forefront of politics in the city of Detroit for decades and has been very influential in keeping the demand for Reparations on the Congressional Floor via HR 40. 

He now is backing HR 1000 The Humphret Hawkins Full Employment and Training Act, which would provide measuresto create temporary jobs to reduce unemployment, similar to the Great Depression's New Deal programs.

HR 1000 will:

Create job opportunities for unemployed and under employed individuals;

Address community needs and reduce desparities in health, housing, education, job rediness and public infrastructure

Establish 2(two) Trust Funds through a small financial transaction tax (FTT)

1. Trust 1 will fund grants to creae jobs

2. Trust 2 will fund job training programs
