Our guest on the Thursday, January 6th, 2011 program at 3PM Pacific/6PM Eastern is Marthe Le Van, Acquisitions & Development Editor, Lark Jewelry, who is now blogging at http://www.larkcrafts.com/jewelry-beading/. Marthe Le Van is a jewelry, metals, and beading editor for Lark Crafts. Since 2000, she has written, edited, juried, or curated more than 40 books. Recent publications include the first two titles in this series, 30-Minute Earrings and 30-Minute Necklaces. Marthe has edited all jewelry books in Lark’s popular “500” series and curated 500 Wedding Rings and Masters: Gold. She is a member of the Art Jewelry Forum and the Society of North American Goldsmiths. A bit more on Marthe, in her own words: 'Born on the bayou. Raised on étouffée and voodoo. Did some time in the Big Apple (shout out to Sarah Lawrence College). Found my home halfway in between. Married my best friend. All of my jobs have been artful nouns: producer, curator, editor. I am a maker. I made television. I made exhibits. And for nearly 10 years, I’ve made books for people with creative needs: to learn, to craft, to study, to see. In the course of this, I’ve fallen in love with other makers—jewelers and metalsmiths to be precise. Their process, imagination, and innovation never cease to amaze and inspire me.' Please join us for this encore conversation with Marthe!
