Born in our nation's capital of Washington, D.C., it was obvious since the age of 2 that Italya possessed a true God-given talent. Italya is not only a singer but a songwriter as well. She writes all of her songs and is hands on with the composition of her music.
Upon hearing her voice, it is easy to hear some of her musical influences such as Whitney Houston, Mary J. Blige, Faith Evans, Kim Burell, The Clark Sisters and the Pace Sisters. Coupled with her ability to skillfully serenade an audience is her ability to touch the heart of her audience in song. Her versatility to go from traditional gospel to contemporary Christian music is uncanning.
