My dream sheet at MOS, school landed me in Camp Pendleton,Ca with 1 st Battalion 5th Marine Regiment, an Infantry regiment. 2 month after arriving at 1/5 Communications Platoon,I was deployed on my first pump to Okinawa, JAPAN. After arrival in Okinawa, temporarily assigned to The USMC Jungle warfare training center as training and operations personel for 5 month of the 6 month deployment.Upon returning from my 1st deployment the fun began. As I was attached to Weapons Co, Bravo, and Alpha Co.1/5.

Bob Fearing retired after 20 years in the Air Force. He is an Iraq War Veteran and Bronze Star Medal recipient. When he exited military service his commander told him to make a copy of his military health records and take them to the VA. He did this and waited 8 months for a rating decision. He figured this wasn't an abnormally long time since there were hundreds of thousands of Vets in the system. In 2010, Bob had a severe bout of PTSD. He was hospitalized in the Baltimore VA medical center. Upon his release he easy informed to make copies of his health records and file a claim for the PTSD. So he did. One year passed and he began making phone calls but couldn't get an answer to where his claim was in the process. Two years passed and now he was frustrated. Three years passed and he was angry. Concerned Veterans For America c9nnected h8m with a journalist at the Baltimore Sun who ran an article on the VA claims backlog and Bob's harrowing ordeal.
