Arts and Politics of the African Disapora. We'll talk about a few art exhibits which are closing next week, such as Chukes at Sargent Johnson Gallery, and Double Exposure at MoAD. Both exhibits are in San Francisco. Sept. 5, is First Fridays in the Bay. There is another exhibit opening at AAMLO on Censorship. We'll also look at black theatre in the SF Bay: Tayo Aluko in Call Mr. Robeson. There is a fundraiser Sept. 5, and con't. Sept. 6-7 at 5 PM at the Phonenix Theatre; Richard Talavera, playwright, and director, Norman Gee's Before the Dream: the mysterious death (and life) of Richard Wright; Coleman Domingo, playwright of "A Boy and His Soul." We will also revisit the Gulf Region and see what's going on there on the ground in Louisiana and Mississippi. We are also honored to have the directors of the new film "Trouble the Water," which opens this weekend, Sept. 5 in the San Francisco Bay Area. Check your listings.
