Jayme Shaye was born in Los Angeles, CA and now resides in Cincinnati, Ohio. She has always had a passion for music and was first drawn to it by her father, a professional drummer. Singing was just part of her life, no doubt about it. As she grew up, she sang in Church- usually soloing and before long began building a career based on pure talent and love for the jazz influenced soul vocal styles of her influences: Jill Scott, Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, and Jazmine Sullivan.
