The True Heart of a Prophet

1 John 4:1; Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. (NKJ)

It is easier to discern the heart of a true prophet or the office and gift of someone who accurately speaks on behalf of God by contrasting the true with the false. As prophets are representatives of God, every message they have must the character of His love as the source of their motivation. After a true prophet tears down the things that are not of God, they will then always begin to build the Body or the local church back up with faith, hope, and love.
