British police have confirmed U.K. media reports that Jake Davis, 18, of Yell, Shetland Islands, known to the Internet as Topiary, has been formally charged with five offences, including the DDoS attack against the Serious and Organized Crime Agency (SOCA) earlier this summer. Davis was released on bail on Monday after being charged with five offenses relating to computer attacks and break-ins by the LulzSec and Anonymous hacking groups earlier this year.
