I think the fascination for lucrative and socially prestigious careers transcends cultures... That attitude is also prevalent in Haiti as it is in Nigeria, other African countries, the Caribbean islands, and in Western nations.

Regardless of what one's interests are I think every individual should obtain some sort of formal training to sharpen and complement their skills.

Career choice should be based on one's passions and abilities, not just potential salary and social prestige. If one's career choice is based solely on those factors then I don't see how an individual can excel in their field of study and profession.
