Twenty-two year old Marvelyn Brown had dreams and aspirations just as other 19 year olds until she found out she contracted the HIV virus from an ex- boyfriend in high school who kept his virus a secret. Months after finding out her HIV status and losing the majority of her friends, Brown felt the need to raise awareness by educating young people across the country about the importance of safe sex. She is now known as a national HIV/ AIDS activist and spokesperson with appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Tavis Smiley Show, America's Next Top Model, MTV and BET.
