Luana DeAngelis was 35 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer, a moment that changed her life forever and has taken her on a newfound journey of health and love that continues to this day. Her discovery of cancer left her shocked at the nearly complete lack of access to care for breast cancer patients outside of the medical establishment. Her own successful recovery  was born out of careful research, listening to her intuition and a willingness to be open to all of the treatment possibilities. She had essentially taken an integrative approach that in 2004 was met with "a lot of resistance and ambiguity" by the establishment doctors. In 2005 Luana founded You Can Thrive, a non-profit organization that offers patient peer support and navigation services. Today, the organization has grown into a 10,000 sq ft. space in central Manhattan.
