Even though Moses grew up as the son of Pharaoh's daughter, he still had a heart for his own people, the Hebrews. It manifested itself in the fact that he killed an Egyptian that was beating one of his bretheren. He thought he was doing good, and maybe thought that he could use his position to help his people. But acting out in the flesh will not bring about the plans and purposes of God, no matter how well intentioned they are. Moses heart was in the right place, but as the Word of God says, "not by might, not by power, but by my Spirit says the Lord of Hosts"
