After Joseph reveals himself to his brothers, he makes plans to bring his father and the rest of his family to Egypt to live with him. God appears to Jacob and reafirms all the promises made to his fathers with regard to the great nation that will come from Jacob. He tells Jacob not to be afraid to go down to Egypt, and that He (God) will be with him. Fear is one of the biggest weapons of the enemy, and God tells us all over the Bible not to fear, because God is with us.
