When sin opens a door, close it by repenting

The Lord Jesus Christ said that if we love Him, we should keep His commandments. However, because of the sin nature, many Christians find themselves doing the very things that God forbids. When we wilfully choose to sin, we are despising God's commandments, and we are despising Him. That is what the Lord told king David of the Israelites when he committed adultery with Bathsheba. But, thank God for His mercies, David received forgiveness after he repented.

What does it mean to repent? Is it as simple as saying "I'm sorry"?  Please join us for the study of God's word, as the Holy Spirit teaches us about sin, its effect on our relationship with God, repentance, and  receiving forgiveness.
