Many Christians have been faithful in praying for material things, praying for their families, praying for others to be healed and delivered, praying for their church and their leaders. But how many have consistently prayed that they enter not into temptation?
And yet, this command of our Lord is just as relevant for us today, as it was for His disciples thousands of years ago.
Why should we be concerned about watching and praying, that we enter not into temptation? Because Matt. 26: 40-41 says :
And He (Jesus) cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with Me one hour?
41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
As storms, trials and tribulations come upon the world, we must watch and pray that we do not give into temptation and deny the Lord Jesus Christ.
