Philadelphia’s city council passed an ordinance last year called “Achieving Driving Equality.” Signed into law in October went into effect earlier this month, prohibits the Philadelphia Police Department from stopping drivers who are violating aspects of the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code. The ordinance ignores common sense, stops the police department from enforcing duly enacted laws of Pennsylvania, and disregards established precedent from the U.S. Supreme Court. A group of Iranian-backed extremists that Democrat President Joe Biden removed from the official Foreign Terrorist Organization list has reportedly launched attacks against Saudi Arabia over the weekend. The Biden Justice Department remains committed to looking at “every possible civil rights violation that could have happened that led to the death of Breonna Taylor,” more than two years after the controversial shooting, according to attorney Ben Crump. MSNBC guest Elie Mystal, who also serves as justice correspondent at The Nation, said on Saturday that the hardest part of Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson’s hearings — for her — would likely be refraining from punching Republicans in the mouth.
