With the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran, Shiites in the region felt encouraged to try and secure equal treatment as that given to Sunni's. Shiites in Saudi Arabia were very receptive to Khomeini and his attacks on the Saudi royal family on the grounds that Islam and hereditary kingship are not compatible. As a result, 1979 saw a marked increase in the mobilisation of the Shiite community in Saudi Arabia, with demonstrations often being centered around Shiite festivals. The celebration of these festivals, including that of the Day of Ashura, was banned.
Also, a secret deal with Israel and Saudi arm's deal to Sudan which was clandestine in 1981 between some of Ariel Sharon's private business partners, a Saudi attache and an African leader that would suppress Libya and beef up military in Eastern Africa. I also play footage of intensity of Israel-Lebanese conflict of 1982.
Today on The Ron Kelly Show, vaccinations suddenly the hot topic with the GOP and who steps in it first? Jordan immediately kills two prisoners after ISIS burns a captive Jordanian pilot alive. Is Obama too soft on foreign policy? Poor Brian Williams. Should he lose his anchor post? Guess who's waiting in the wings? Here we go again, Saudi Arabia and 9-11 and the Week in Review.
There's a downside to the cheap gasoline you see at the pump.
It's cheap because Saudi Arabia is intentionally dumping oil on the markets at a price that other oil producers have trouble matching.
International economies are being put under stress by the Saudi moves.
Is this capitalism, as some insist, or are the Saudis perpetrating global economic warfare?
Meanwhile, adherents to Islam continue waging more typical terrorism on the West.
Obama skipped Paris as international leaders rallied there to denounce recent attacks. Obama, meanwhile, has released more long-detained Jihadists from Gitmo. Coincidence?
If there's any good coming out of the Paris attacks, maybe it's that more people have begun to question the Left's doctrine of multiculturalism.
Don and Doug will take up these matters and more, Friday at 1:00 pm EST, as we continue to connect the dots in perilous times.
Saudi's transitional government and recognition of Israel. How the Saudis have radical Yemen flanking them and predisposed Iran across the bay. Jon goes off on a major tangent about the purpose of body parts mainly mens nipples.
The largest oil exporter in the Middle East has teamed up with the second largest consumer of oil in the world (China) to build a gigantic new oil refinery and the mainstream media in the United States has barely even noticed it. This mammoth new refinery is scheduled to be fully operational in the Red Sea port city of Yanbu by 2014.then why should Saudi Arabia continue to only sell oil in U.S. dollars? And if the petrodollar system collapses, what is that going to mean for the U.S. economy?
Before the modern day reign of the Saudi Royal family which declared its throne in 1932, a young prince at age 20 wanted to eliminate the Ottoman empire and restore rule of Al Saud who once dominated the region from the Red Sea to the Persian Gulf. He didn’t second guess his rightful birthright in the area. His name was Abd al-Azia ibn Saud. He crossed the desert with sixty brothers and cousins to reclaim the land. He enlisted nomadic Bedouins, local warriors named the Ikhwan who also wanted their own version of a puritan Wahhabi Islamic state. After the victory in 1902, Abd al-Aziz ibn Saud wanted to kill 1/3 of the army that helped him win, the Ikhwan. He consulted the religious elite, the ulama, and got approval. He killed the coalition that enabled him to win. Since 1932, there has been no royal monarchy but the House of Saud and each subsequent ruler was a brother. A few turns of betrayal or alliance have tipped the kingdom momentarily but only cost one real life 80 plus years. Dirty deals with the U.S. have kept them in an interfacing East-West loyalty that may switch up generation to generation.
WE ALSO HAD A CALLER FROM OKLAHOMA WHO PERSONALLY KNOWS PRINCE DARIUS RELATED TO THE SHAH OF IRAN.

We'll discuss Sec of State John Kerry's press conference/statement regarding Nigerian elections further telling how delusional this president and administration are!
The King is dead! King Saud of Saudi Arabia died this past week. Interestingly, President Soundbite just happens to be in India where he can now fly to Saudi Arabia to pay homage to the very King he bowed too! What does the death of the King mean to the region? Saudi Arabia and Yemen to the south, where the government has collapsed and has been overthrown. Reports are the US is "supporting" the Iranian led Houthi Rebels - Obama's Arab Spring is working well. The Spring has continued to Sprung a leak!
Who knew there was such a term as "collapsitarian", but it's apparently been around for at least five years.
Many with a gloomy geopolitical or economic outlook apparently show distain the label.
We'll talk about the history of the term (what little there is), and why it may be more valid today than when it was first coined. Don and Doug believe there's plenty of potential for a coming collapse both at home and abroad.
Speaking of collapse, the Islamic State seems to be ratcheting up efforts to topple the Saudi kingdom. And at least one Western nation may already be distancing itself as an ally should Saudi Arabia come under attack.
Meanwhile, President Obama and his team appear stuck on stupid when it comes to international relations. There' s a report Obama-aligned operatives have been dispatched to Israel in an effort to help defeat Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu at the polls. Want something even crazier? The State Department is apparently in a huddle with the Muslim Brotherhood on Middle East policy. It seems the Obama team learned nothing from the Brotherhood's brief but disasterous reign in Egypt.
