This Monday night, August 4th, This Is Some Scene welcomes Project Twenty1’s Executive Director, Stephanie Yuhas and Festival Director, Matt Conant to our radio show. They will be talking about Project Twenty1 and The Philadelphia Film-A-Thon. Project Twenty1 was started in 2006 as a Film Competition giving filmmakers 21 Days to make short films. Why 21 Days? To keep the focus on making a film well, not just making one quickly. They also wanted to ensure that the competition was fair to animators as well as live-action filmmakers. Project Twenty1 prides themselves on being a Philadelphia festival. By bringing more film lovers and artists to the city for their events, festivals, and screenings, they hope to introduce more people to Philadelphia as the thriving community for filmmakers and cinemaphiles that it is. They are doing this with the cooperation of the Arts & Business Council of Greater Philadelphia, the Greater Philadelphia Film Office, and other local organizations committed to the same goals.
