power of perception film with JOHN DAPOLITO

    in Spirituality

JOHN DAPOLITO is a New York City based professional acting teacher, director and playwright. He is also the founder of Actors! Where Are You Going?, a career development program for professional actors, using psychological profiling techniques to illicit the actors “Acting-Niche”, the “Charismatic It-factor”. John currently seminars and teaches his approach in Los Angeles and New York City.
John began his career as an actor working in television and film while doing tons of no-pay black box theatre. It was there that he developed his skills as a playwright and director. He first directed Ralph Pape’s Soap Opera some twenty-five years ago and in the spring of 2013 he directed a daring production of Neil LaBute’s Romance. His own plays include: Killer Midgets, Augie’s Ring, An Act of Kindness and Baptism by Fire, have each been produced. The latter, Baptism by Fire was produced and directed by Emmy Award Winner Michael Imperioli.
John also penned the screenplay When Tough Guys Were King (co-authored by Dominik Tiefenthaler) and is presently shopping it around.
Other Notable Teachings: Master Class for the Working Actor, a NYC based Tuesday evening acting class dedicated to the development of the actors “Acting-Niche”. This class focuses on advanced character development on niche using John’s “Actable-Phrase” technique. His other classes include: Script Secrets of the A-List Actor and The Lawlessness of Sides: Level I & Level II, both taught in LA and NYC.
On the Personal: John grew up guided and quizzed by his grandfather who was a big film buff. He credits his love of acting, art, and language to his always entertaining “Popa”. So grateful.

    Washington DC's G.I. Film Festival

    in Travel

As we celebrate this year's G.I. Film Festival we thought we'd share some highlights from previous years.  As with every day,  World Footprints  is proud to pay tribute to our nation’s heroes--our men and women in uniform, and the Hollywood patriots who support them. From the red carpet of the 2011 G.I. Film Festival in Washington DC, we will share our conversations with three award-winning actors: Gary Sinise, William Devane and Lou Diamond Phillips.  We also met award-winning filmmaker Rodney Ray and budding filmmaker Chris Loverro. The GI Film Festival is the first film festival in the nation to exclusively celebrate the successes and sacrifices of the service member through the medium of film.    Then we’ll chat with actor Sean Kanan who is best known for his role as Deacon Sharpe on The Young and the Restless. Sean joins us to talk about his journey from the mid-west to Hollywood and his travels with the USO.
