Hebrews 12 invites the question "what are we coming to?"

Often we come to circumstances, people or situations seeing only the outward. We get caught up in structure, tradition, we get distracted or daunted by the size or complexity or the intransigence of the problem.

The writer points to a different reality, a deeper truth. What we are actually coming to is a festal gathering - not because the circumstances are necessarily joyful, but because the bringer and source of joy is at the heart of them, bringing victry and transformation and healing.
