MEMORIAL FOR TUSKEGGEE AIRMAN WILLIAM FAUNTROY

We celebrate the life of Airman Brother William Fauntroy who flew away October 3rd.  B\other Billy will tru;ly be missed by the Drybones family. Brother Billy was 97 years old.  He loved ro tell the story of the Airmen.He spoke highly of his wife of 62 years and his brothers Congress man Walter Fauntroy and Civil rights Activism Raymond Fauntroy  Billy Fauntroy joined the military during World War II, and was assigned to the Tuskegee Army Airfield for 10 yrs.weekt training. 

Billy Fauntroy who also attended Howard University.later became the first Black civil engineer hired by the predecessor for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority. He was the urban planner for the portion of the subway system built in the District.
