Gail Haynes learned the lessons of small business by opening up a Lemonade Stand at age 7!  At 16, she started a trail riding facility with the support of her parents.  But, she never truly learned how to manage her money properly and found herself caught in a financial struggle.

When Gail became a single parent with two young children to care for, she realized she needed to figure out how to make money work for her.  She vowed not to let her kids grow up with the financial blueprint of “spend” mentality that had led her to hardship.

Gail introduced simple steps to her 2 and 4 year-old girls on how to understand money.  Her system taught the values of responsibility, money management, charity, and more. As her children grew, their responsibilities changed and they became interested in how they could earn their own money. At ages 4 and 6, her children started a Kool Aid stand at horse shows that Gail held.  By ages 7 and 9, they started a bunny breeding business and it’s quite successful.

Her book The Lemonade Stand is an invaluable tool which inspires parents to raise kids that are confident and prepared for the challenges of today’s world.

Gail's been featured on tv shows: “Daytime Toronto”, “Toronto Speaks” and “Success Stories” locally. She has guested on radio shows: Mind Your Own Business, the LizyT Radio Show, Dr. Cheryl Cottle, and shares her message online and in print: Golden Girl Finance, MSN Money, Canadian Family Magazine, and Discover Milton.
