Kat Meredith: Community Ambassador for PrepareLA

Kat Meredith currently serves as a Community Ambassador for PrepareLA and is the Disaster Services Chair for the South Bay/South East District for American Red Cross Los Angeles Region.

She became associated with the organization in September 2009 when she was assigned as a spontaneous volunteer during the Station Fire. She is also a member of the American Red Cross’ Disaster Action Team (DAT) and has worked at several disaster shelters within the greater Los Angeles area.

With over 25 years of non-profit administration and fundraising experience, Kat has had the opportunity to work with such organizations as USC Doheny Eye Institute, California Hospital Medical Center, California State University, and United Way of Greater Los Angeles.

In her free time, she is a docent with the Los Angeles Zoo, a member of the City of Los Angeles Mayor's Crisis Response Team, Palos Verdes Peninsula C.E.R.T., Lomita- Harbor City Kiwanis, and Sandpipers, a philanthropic organization in the South Bay.

She was born and raised in the South Bay and enjoys spending time with her husband, a law enforcement officer with a local South Bay law enforcement agency, her daughter who is a full-time college student and several critters.
