What is CERT ?

CERT is a volunteer organization of trained citizens who will help themselves and their neighbors during emergencies,

when public safety employees are overwhelmed during a major emergency,

and cannot respond to all of the calls for help.

What is involved in a CERT course?

Each class is approximately 22 hours long.

The classes are planned for three sessions (7 ½ hours + 7 ½ hours + 7 ½ hours) on Saturdays.

The classes are broken into 2+ hour modules:

Disaster Preparedness

Disaster Fire Suppression

Disaster Medical Operations/Triage

Search and Rescue

Disaster Medical Operations/Assessment

Team Organization and Management

Disaster Exercise
