When Chick-fil-A executive Don Cathy went on a radio show and professed his thoughts on same sex marriage, he placed his company in the middle of a firestorm which happens to be the Gay Marriage debate.
Cathy's statements led to a national debate when a Chicago alderman refused to allow a Chick-fil-A to be built in his district. He even received the backing of Chicago's mayor, Rahm Emanuel.
The alderman's statement prompted Fox News host, Mike Huckabee, to announce a Chick-fil-A national 'Appreciation Day' which led to record sales for the company.
The LGBT community countered by having a national 'Kiss-in Day' at all Chick-fil-A in order to protest the statments made by the executive.
So far neither President Obama nor the Republican Party presumptive nominee, Mitt Romney, have weighed in on the issue.
Chick-fil-A is an Atlanta based company that is known for its strong Christian values even closing on Sundays in order for people to be able to go to church.
