Marshelle "Comedian Ms. Woody" Woodland grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. She's been developing her comedic art since the mid 1980's. As a college student at Southeast Missouri State University, Woody was inspired to make people laugh by Cedric the Entertainer when he used her as a subject in his stand-up act. Woody has performed with the likes of Jesse Taylor, Arvin Mitchell and many more. During a hiatus from comedy she worked two full-time jobs as a Bi-State bus driver and United States postal carrier. 15 years and 9 children later, she decided she had enough material in her surroundings to bring her art back to the public. Woody has co-hosted a radio programs with Bob Lawrence. She produced, promoted and sponsored The Annual Midwest "Show Me Funny" Comedy Competition. This event featured upcoming comedians from around the United States. She is focusing on the need for community improvement. Woody's main focus is the need for community members to encourage and support each other. By using her God-given gifts putting humor back into humanity, she feels, this is the key to open up the door for changes in communities. She is mostly motivated by the Mentors in her life. Especially, the one and only comedian/activist known around the world as Dick Gregory. It doesn't matter whether she is fundraising for charities, passing out water in extreme heat to the homeless or driving her kids to school events. Woody want to make Midwest "Show Me Funny" Entertainment the first venture incorporating multiple not for profit groups for a single purpose. Comedian Ms. Woody wants you to continue to smile out loud and let no one get in the way of your smile. Your failures lead to success. Join her in her COMEDY MOVEMENT, to HELP and HEAL THROUGH LAUGHTER.
