Jane Dittmar started her first business when she was a second year at UVa. After graduating with a degree in economics, she launched and ran a number of successful companies and served on numerous non-profit boards.

Jane’s record of service spans both the state and local level. She served three governors on various appointed councils and was the first women president of the UVa Athletic Foundation.

Jane is co-founder of numerous organizations including the Thomas Jefferson Partnership for Economic Development (now called the Central Virginia Partnership), the Charlottesville Albemarle School Business Alliance and the Charlottesville Regional Tourism Council, and currently serves on the Advisory Council for Habitat for Humanity.

A certified mediator and trainer, Jane presently coordinates mediation programs for General District, Juvenile & Domestic Relations and Circuit Courts in Albemarle County as well other jurisdictions in the region.  Before launching her private mediation practice, Positive Solutions Group, fourteen years ago, Jane was President of the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce for nine years.

In November 2013 Jane was elected to the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors to fill the remainder of the Scottsville District term, made vacant when Chris Dumler resigned his seat earlier that year.  In January 2014 she was elected Chair of the Board for this year.
