The governor says stashing former Gitmo detainees at the Thomson Correction Center in Northwest Illinois will have a big economic impact. CBS 2's Vince Gerasole reports on the plan. There's a lot of money, perhaps $1 billion over four years according to Gov. Pat Quinn. On Monday, officials from the Federal Bureau of Prisons and the Department of Defense will converge on the Carrol County prison in tiny Thomson, Ill. If it passes inspection, Thomson could soon house thousands of federal prisoners, including several dozen terrorist detainees from Guantanamo Bay. The Thomson Correctional Facility sits virtually empty -- only 200 of its 1,600 beds are in use -- a poor showing for a $140 million prison that opened in 2001 with the promise of jobs and economic prosperity.
